I am fortunate to have Miriam Ahladas as a customer and a friend. I met her when she joined our little quilt group in Montpelier, VA. Seriously, you wouldn’t believe the talent that we have in this group in this little village in the middle of nowhere.
Miriam is a painter and got into fiber art only a few years ago. She actually stared by cutting apart one of her canvases and sewing it back together with fabric added.
I’m very humbled that she finds my gradients so inspiring to her new fiber work. This is her latest piece that uses Jenny Lake as the background. She added several batiks and lots of fiber to add dimension and texture. I think you can really see her painting background as a major influence to her fiber work.
If you have made anything with fabric you have purchased from me please consider entering it in the Customer Gallery. We all get inspired and you get a 20% coupon that’s good for 2 months!
I'm Vicki Welsh and I've been making things as long as I can remember. I used to be a garment maker but transitioned to quilts about 20 years ago. Currently I'm into fabric dyeing, quilting, Zentangle, fabric postcards, fused glass and mosaic. I document my adventures here.
