I didn't post yesterday because I worked the early voting center again so didn't have anything to share. It was so busy that I couldn't even read a page of my book. That's a good thing! On Sunday we went to a local concert of the US Navy Country Current Band. It was a veteran featured event so our quilt club had a booth and we awarded 4 veterans quilts through a raffle. The weather was spectacular and it was a lovely afternoon. On Saturday I actually dyed fabric! I needed to dye some veterans quilt backs, fabric for that quilt I showed last week and some sample swatches. It's been at least a month since I've dyed anything and it was nice to be back. There's been lots of football watching so I've mostly been crocheting. I think I have about 6 rows left for the shawl and a whole lot of rows left on the blanket.
This week I'll be getting on with making some birthday postcards and planning the Christmas postcards.

The election office is not in the best part of town so I am going to mail mine. They do have a tracking system so I will be able to make sure it gets there. You have been busy! 10/22/2024 03:39:22 pm
good to see you dying fabric still - pretty colors. I never have like football but I like basketball sometimes - I'm not much of a sports fan - our small county election headquarters wasn't too bad today I was told it was really busy yesterday so waited until today - stood in line about 10 minutes waiting to get inside - that is not bad at all - spent the time talking to the 98 year old man ahead of me - had a sit down walker and he was sitting and his grandson was pulling him in line so he wouldn't have to get up - he was sharp as a tack and talking about all the wars he fought in the army - he was not missing election day because he can barely stand anymore - so clear eyed I would have though he was more like 84 or something instead of 98

There is basically no early voting in Alabama. My good friend who works as a poll worker had his yearly training last night. Comments are closed.
