Yesterday morning I had my annual eye exam and got an A+ report and get to skip a year of changing prescriptions. That saved me about $1000. Then I decided to head over to a friend's house to take her some flowers for a big celebratory event in her life. On the way I turned a corner too tight and busted a tire on a curb. I kind of have a curb habit but I've never busted a tire before! My friend was nearby so she offered to come and help me with the tire but I just wanted her to come by so I could give her the flowers! I tried to change the tire myself but couldn't get the lug nuts loose. Instead I learned that USAA Roadside Assistance (that I signed up for just 2 months ago) is awesome! A super nice guy was there in 30 minutes and got me on my way to the Costco tire department. Chris picked me up and they called around 4 to tell me the car was ready. I've never thought about tire warranties before but now I appreciate them! The replacement tire was only $49. All-in-all, the day worked out just fine. The first time I got home I got one of these quilts basted and I got the second one basted after I brought the car home. Today I'll start quilting. After I picked the car up I stopped by Hobby Lobby and got some fabrics for my fabric postcards. I'll be working on these today too.
The day started with a little chaos but everything ended up just fine.

I just coughed up the better part of a thousand bucks on new glasses so you definitely lucked out. Oh the joys of wanting/needing progressive lenses. I compound the issue by insisting on metal frames because I tend to just get new lenses for as long as the frames hold together. Plastic frames do well to last a couple of years.

Wow, it was a good thing you had the tire warranty. It isn't something we think much about.

I am glad it was just a tire and nothing else worse happened. I always get the tire warranty at a local tire shop. For some reason I was always picking up screws/nails on my Eclipse. So far I haven't had to use it for my current ride. The shop also rotates the tires for free and they do brake jobs.
