Well, that's not a bad start to the year! I finally got the borders on the vulture quilt that my best friend made for me and now the quilt is on our bed. I got her permission to add borders so that the quilt would be big enough to use on our bed. Tomorrow I'll have a post to show more details of the quilt. I also got her double wedding ring quilted and she's now working on the binding. In the sewing room I also made 6 placemats. On the crochet front I finished 13 chemo hats and a wheelchair shawl. All of these items will be donated. I used 16 balls of yarn this month! My January plans include quilting and binding the star tree skirt, make 8 placemats and hopefully I'll have some veterans quilts to quilt soon.
I have a couple of crochet projects underway (CTC wheelchair blanket, Moogly CAL and the big green/aran blanket. The Moogly project goes through the year but there's no reason that the other projects can't be done this month. I'm going to start several new projects this month: - another Antelope Canyon quilt for a wedding gift due in May - either another Groovy quilt or a new scrap quilt - a wall hanging for my nephew - a summer crochet top - a crochet gingham baby blanket that has to be done by the end of March I have a goal to finish these projects in February: - 1 of 2 CTC wheelchair lap blankets - the big green/aran blanket - only a few rows remain - the star tree skirt - the 8 purple/blue placemats Here are my stats for the month: Starting UFO 5 Finished YTD 0 Started YTD 0 Ending UFO 0 Other major projects - Veterans quilts made - Veterans quilts quilted - Fabric Postcards - Pet Beds - Quilted for others - 1 Crochet blankets - Crochet shawls - Crochet/loom knit hats and scarves - 13 Doll outfits - Placemats - 6

Speaking of vultures, I would never have thought that they were beautiful, till a few years ago, when I began watching the nature and Animal Planet shows that feature wildlife I never knew existed. The only vultures I had ever seen, were in zoos, and they weren't very pretty. There are so many varieties with gorgeous plumage, and the wingspan is amazing, some with up to10 feet. But then you get to the head. Nuff said. lol Comments are closed.
