As usual, I sat down to write this post thinking that May was a pretty slack month. I was wrong. I had a great May! My goals were: - make my nephew's wall hanging - done! - start Groovy 3 - did not do - quilt 4 veterans quilts - done plus 2 of my own! - make some postcards - done! The biggest accomplishment of the month was Soundwave. Having the vacation deadline was key because I wanted to give it to my nephew there. He had requested it in February and I just procrastinated until the last minute because I thought it was going to be difficult. I was wrong and was able to make it in less than a week. I also fused a boatload of bottles to take to the beach as gifts for the family. I have developed a habit of making something each year (tie dyed beach towels, glass dishes, beach bags.....) so this year was bottles. Everyone has a new spoon rest. It was also a good month for veterans quilts. I quilted 4 for others, finished 2 of my own and made 2 new tops that I will get quilted and bound this week. Rounding out the month I made a set of postcards for Mother's Day and birthdays., made some good progress on the scrappy HST quilt, learned to tie fly lures and used 10 balls of yarn! That pile in the last photo are the SIX crochet project that I have in various stages of progress. I'll talk more about crochet projects in one big update tomorrow.
My goals for June are: - tie dye a set of sheets - start the Groovy quilt - need to dye sashing fabric - Start planning the new Judy Niemeyer quilt, I want to take it for my Maine project so I need to plan colors an dyed fabric - cut out more veterans quilt kits from the fabric I purchased in Paducah - make dog beds - make more postcards - quilt and bind 2 veterans quilts It's along list but not an overwhelming one. We'll see how it goes.

I know your nephew must have been over the moon when he saw that quilt!
