I really dislike July and August. The heat doesn't bother me at all but the humidity and mold here in Central Virginia is stifling. I have my allergies mostly under control the rest of the year but mold is my Achilles heel. That means that I mostly stay inside for 2 months of the year. That's a huge improvement over my situation 10 years ago but boy do I look forward to our Maine trip every summer! But until then, I'm an inside girl. I'm not good at working on one project at a time. I'll work on one thing for an hour or so and then switch to something else. Watching TV is hand sewing time. Because I sprained my ankle there's been a lot of TV time and this week I finished up another set of moons. At this point I have 45 done and 27 prepared and ready for stitching. I still don't know how big I'll make this but I'll probably just keep working on them and maybe I'll get more than 1 quilt from them. I think this one is my favorite of this group just because of the unusual coloring. I like hw the grayish lines blend right into the background. Very eerie.

So sorry you are suffering from the mold, Vicki! I like you moons, especially the green ones.

I don't have issues with mold, but I hate the heat and the humidity. Summer in Ohio sucks big time. It was so humid this morning (95%!) there was fog on my trip to work. It would get old having to stay inside for 2 months. Your moons are looking good! 7/18/2019 07:46:52 am
Take care. The heat and humidity here are seriously high also. Right now the humidity is 90 even though at the moment it is 72 outside (but that will go up a lot once the sun if fully up.)

Before I read to the end of this post, I too liked the moon you highlighted in this grouping! Thanks for sharing....

I love your new moons! Your quilt is going to look great. I hate the heat, and it is going to get really hot here soon. It's been in the 90s but will be in the upper 90s starting tomorrow. Hopefully, it won't last long! I'm ready for fall!!

p.s. Are you using the new gray dye or gradients of black for these? A few years ago, I bought a template to make sort of a faux cathedral window. Before you started making this quilt, I decided I would make it with shades of gray for the back and other colors for the front, all with my hand dyed fabrics. I was going to use gradients of black, but may try the new gray.

It's really hot here too - and the humidity is up there. Supposed to be at least two or three more days before it cools off too. Good days to stay inside! btw - I was thinking of this project a couple of nights ago when the moon was rising and it was the most incredible shade of orange. Comments are closed.
