I did it! All of the cards are addressed, stamped and on the way to the post office this morning. Christmas is basically done except for a few gifts for my SIL's grandchildren. Woohoo! We had our quilt club sewing days this weekend so I spent Friday and Saturday working on these blocks. This will be another veterans quilt. I cut this quilt kit (and another just like it) earlier this year and I thought these would be great to have to work on during the winter months. It's the same pattern as these quilts that I finished in August. I like this block a lot so I can see myself cutting more of these quilts after I make it through the remaining 4 - 6 kits that I have left.
I don't have a progress photo of Chris' crochet blanket but I've passed the halfway mark and am working on the 7th of 11 skeins. I'll try to get a photo in good light to share Wednesday. We both love the blanket. My next project is to make Ella another American Girl outfit for her Christmas gift. I'll be searching through patterns and fabrics later today after I run a couple of errands.

I'm impressed that you got all your cards done! And I'm loving those cheerful, tropical blocks.

As my Mom would say "that's a good job done!" Getting all those postcards made and addressed - Bravo! Those blocks are pretty! That is going to make a fun quilt! We are getting down to the 9th hour with stuff to do before Christmas aren't we? Geeze, every year it creeps up faster!

Just getting the edging on all of those cards was a lot of work. But I know that they are all beautiful, too.

I love your post cards. I'm curious. You use a fabric backing….and the stamp sticks to it?

That's definitely a stack of happiness in that bin; I agree with the others, you've been busy! I like those blocks, too, in those happy orange fabrics!

I know you've said how many postcards you make for Christmas but seeing them all together made it even more amazing. You are going to make a lot of people happy!

Last year, after baking about 1800 cookies for family and friends, I told everyone, this is the last year. It's just too hard on this old body, especially the back, legs, arms and hands. lol Well, I relented and said I would make pound cakes this year, thinking it would be easier than the cookies. I sent out emails to children and grandchildren. Now, most of the grandkids are married and have children of their own. They had a choice of 5 different kinds to choose from. Well, then the grandkids with children began asking if they could have two, because the kids didn't like what the parents liked. Long story short, there are now almost 50 of the darn things sitting in my freezer, and have decided to bake cookies next year! Thanks for listening Vicki, I just needed to vent. Comments are closed.
