Well, here it is, the last of the placemats! The last for now anyway. I always like making them so I know there will be more. These were made with leftover fabrics from the Red Sunset quilt that I made 2 years ago. I'm sure that the napkins were dyed with the gradients that I dyed for the same quilt. Now, you might wonder why there are 3 placemats. The napkins were usually dyed with gradients or leftover dyes and I use as many as I need at the time. When I dyed these I had three of this style so that set the number of placemats. I will find a a perfect home for them and all the other's I finished this week. I also finished processing all the fabric for the new quilt for the new guest room. Now the lighting is horrible in the photo. The walls in this room are gray! But the colors are good enough to show how well I matched the blue of the headboard! But as I looked at the fabrics together I realized that I want the medium and light blues on top in this photo to be lighter. So I'll dye more this weekend. Here's the pattern and the 2 arrows show the 2 fabrics that I want to be lighter than what I dyed. Since the fabrics are blue, I can use the rejects in future veterans quilts. I had some leftover dyes so, of course, I dyed more placemats. There are 8 of the browns, 6 of the acid green and 4 blues. They will end up matched with some placemats some day. I get all these old linens from a friend of a friend. She collects fabric donations and belongs to a group that uses lots of it. What she can't use she has a network of places where she can donate it. Often people throw in linens and she doesn't have a place for them so she passes them to me. I have way too many but sometimes I can find someone who uses cloth napkins who are happy to receive a random stash of dyed napkins.
Today I'm off to the early voting center for another day of crochet and listening to my audiobook.

Pretty placemats. Another crazy complicated quilt top! It will be spectacular with your hand dyed fabrics.

These are the prettiest of your recent placemats. You really did match the color of the headboard well.

These are pretty too - remind me of a sunset. I must admit my jaw almost hit the floor when I saw that quilt pattern. Better you than me!
