1 yard (40” wide) of hand dyed 100% mercerized cotton fabric with a thread count of 80 x 80 threads per inch.
The first photo shows the entire piece and it's approximately 38" square
This is an ice dyed piece of fabric. The fabric is arranged in a bin and covered with ice. The dye is applied on top of the ice. As the ice melts the dye eventually reaches the fabric. This technique gives a lot of texture to the fabric. There are also some dots of dye powder sprinkled throughout.
