Early Art Quilts

In 2005 I participated in a couple of art quilt challenges. These 2 quilts are from those. Magic Carpet is the one that I went a little nuts over. It was a guild challenge where we were give 2 fabrics and could make whatever we wanted. I intended to just do the 12" paper pieced quilt using a Carol Doak pattern. Then I sewed on a few beads. Over 100 hours later I was finally done. This was my first experience with being completely possessed by a quilt.

This one is called Subconscious and is made with silk chiffon and beading. It's about 12" square.
