Rainbow's End Quilt
After making king size, lap size and baby size Rainbow Quilts I had a lot of scraps left. I started sewing the bits together thinking I might make placemats but there was way too much fabric for just placemats.
I searched through my quilt books and found this pattern in Weekend Quilts by Judy Laquidara. It was perfect! I didn't want a white background and found the perfect light blue hand dyed in my stash.
The Color Wheel Warm gradient was perfect for the borders.
The batting is Hobbs 80/20 and it's quilted in a variegated Superior Rainbows thread.
One of the things I love about crumb blocks, aside from saving fabric from the trash bin, is the little peeks of color from the tiniest bits of fabric in a block.
The backing is a bright blue hand dyed and the binding is orange. The orange might not have been the best choice but I think it adds to the happiness factor.
It's finished off with a Zentangle quilt label.
