The Puppy Quilt
I made this quilt for my friend, Lora, to celebrate her upcoming retirement. She works with a pet rescue organization and is 100% devoted to dogs. When I saw this pattern, Dog Gone Cute, by Sew Fresh Quilts I knew it was for her. The pattern makes a 60" quilt but that wasn't big enough. I designed the zig zag border to make it bigger.
The fabrics are all hand dyed. I used 3 shades of the blue background to give a little of a gradient effect. The color fabrics are from my "waste fabric" collection.

Making the dog blocks was so much fun! There are several different dog designs in the pattern and the instructions are thorough. I had a lot of fun picking the fabrics for each dog.
It's quilted with the Square Spiral pantograph using So Fine thread.
The backing is a monochromatic spiral using a lighter shade of the blue on the front. It was loaded to the longarm using my Centering a Quilt Back technique.
