Autumn Leaves Quilt
78 x 90
This was my longest longarm UFO quilt. It's been ready to be quilted since August 2009.

The fabrics were 10" square. I had one pack of leaf prints and two packs of sun printed textures. I organized them into sets of 3 and made these very simple blocks. The quilt is made from some sets of sun printed fabric that I bought in Houston one year. I bet I've had them since about 2002. I know it was long before I learned how to sunprint myself. Some of the prints were better than others but they all look great here as a group. The quilting is an all-over leaf meander using Superior Rainbows in the needle and Bottom Line in the bobbin.
But the highlight of the quilt, for me, is the back. I dyed this in 2009 specifically to use on this quilt. The quilting texture shows up nice on the back too.
I gifted this one to the guy who has been mowing out lawn for over 12 years. He's an awesome person and an avid outdoorsman and loved the quilt. |
