Lost My Marbles
The quilt was started in 2014 as part of a Drunkard's Path quilt-along that I hosted on my blog. I finished the top in February 2015 and started quilting February 2018. I'm fascinated with hypotrochoids and epitrochoids (Spirograph motifs) and I love ruler work. This quilt was the perfect opportunity to use all of my rulers and see how many designs I could come up with. There are over 90 designs and each is different.
The quilt is more true brown than the image shows. The camera wasn't happy with so many browns.

The "marbles" are quilted with 3 shades Superior Magnifico thread and the background is quilted with 3 shades of Wonderfil DecoBob. Both threads worked really well.
The background quilting is a combination of waves and pebbles. I also dtitched around each marble with the background thread.
The batting is Quilter's Dream Blend.

Our bedroom walls are dark orange so this quilt is eventually going to look great on our bed.
The backing is a hand dyed purple spiral. Had I given any real thought to this quilt I would have used a dark solid fabric so that the motifs would show. But I loved this fabric and wanted to use it.
Of course the label is an hypotrochoid made with my Wild Gears set.

I used Sue Heinz's Circleliner tools to mark the divisions of my circles and a variety of longarm rulers to do the quilting. I relied mostly on the complete set of circle and ovals from Quilter's Apothecary but also used ProPebbles from Lisa Calle and Boomerangs from DeLoa Jones and Lily Lines from Bethanne Nemesch. You can search through the Lost My Marbles blog posts to read about each individual motif.
