Rainbow Quilt Tutorial
How about a simple and free quilt pattern? I recently had a customer interested in making a quilt similar to this one. It was a fat eighth friendly pattern and the Stash Packs were perfect for it. I liked it so much that I wanted to make something similar. With this free pattern I added a black border with triangles and created a very simple block so that it would be easy to mix and match fabrics for a scrappy look. Download the PDF pattern here.
Here are 3 possible colorways using a mix of Gradient and Stash Pack fabrics. The first is a Color Wheel version and the second is Autumnal and the third is bright blues and greens. They include some gradients. A half yard of a gradient equals 4 fat eighths and has a lot of color variety to add to the mix. I'll be happy to help you put together a custom palette with a perfect background color for the border and binding.
Here's a king size version that I made in the Color Wheel palette.
This is the lap size version that I made to be a Quilt of Valor.
Color Wheel Palette
For this palette I'd use black for the background but a really deep purple might also work well.
Autumnal Palette
The dark brown of the Woodlands gradient would be great for the border and binding.
Bright Blues and Greens Palette
For the background of this one I like the dark blue of the Bay of Campeche Gradient or the dark blue of Meadow Sunrise.
