All of the red blocks use block #2125 from Blockbase. I am really enjoying working with traditional blocks with symmetry fabrics. Close ups of the red blocks are below. I love how you can make the same block look so different with the placement of the design lines in the fabric.

The green blocks are all made with block #1199 from Blockbase. For these blocks I made the half blocks all identical. I wanted to make the corner blocks the same but didn't have enough repeats in the fabric. But I got the same effect using other parts of the same fabrics.

The real challenge for these quilts is the quilting. I tried 2 different techniques on this quilt. The green blocks are quilted with a curved crosshatch.
In the red blocks I outlined some of the main visual lines in the blocks and then echo quilted to the edge of the red frame. I think this helps to connect the lines even stronger in the blocks. |
