I promised a new Stash Pack this week to a couple of customers but I didn't like 2 of the fabrics in the group so the new brown-themed Stash Pack will be revealed next week. Instead I have a new gradient for you! My intention with the Amethyst gradient was just to get a pretty purple and I think I accomplished that. I wasn't thinking at all about art quilt backgrounds but I so want to see a midnight moon against this gradient for an eerie night scene. Gradients are sold by the half hard but are cut as one continuous piece when you order multiple quantities. Gradients Back in Stock![]() While cutting the next section of my Red Sunset quilt I had to "borrow" the rest of the Red Sunset gradient from the shop. I've restocked it for you this week. For those of you who have been waiting a couple of months, Peacock is finally back in stock too! Fabric of the WeekIn celebration of fall weather finally arriving in Virginia, the Fabric of the Week is Pumpkin Patch. It's 20% off through Sunday.
![]() I didn't work on even one of my goals for September: - start planning Christmas postcards - make a new hiking backpack - quilt Mom's quilt - possibly load my flower applique quilt to start quilting Not one thing. But I got plenty done. The only quilt I finished is this 4-patch veterans quilt. But I did get the center of Red Sunset done and I've started on the border blocks. I'm more focused on this project than any other project right now and I'm going to stick with it. I did get 3 veterans quilts quilted and have 3 more to go. Then I want to quilt a quilt that Mom made. But first I have to reset the timing on my machine this week. I don't mind doing it but I never seem to do it right on the first try. Where I made lots of progress was with crochet. That's logical since it's football season and I'm parked in front of the TV a lot this time of year. I finished a blanket for donation, 10 donation hats and a large blanket for my brother. I'm really close to finishing the summer sweater that I started a few months ago. I have a new sweater that I want to start to I'm motivated. I went through 13 balls of yarn in September.
My friend from London is visiting later this month so I'm going to try to be realistic about my goals for October (and November). I want to: - quilt 3 veterans quilts - quilt Mom's quilt - finish piecing Red Sunset - start Christmas postcards - plan a sample quilt for Paula Nadelstern that has a December 1 deadline - no specific crochet goals, just do something productive while in front of the TV This week's inspiration comes to us from patricia Caldwell. She used 3 different Stash Packs (purple, dark blues and blacks) with a Galaxy. She embellished with crystals and fibers added along with angelina fibers. She used two left over pieces of dyed fabric for the two smaller planets.
For sharing, Patricia received a 20% coupon for the shop that's good for 3 months! If you have made anything with my hand dyed fabric I hope you will consider sharing it in the Customer Gallery. The only rule is that projects have to be complete. It doesn't have to be made totally from hand dyed fabric, just include a recognizable amount. |
