It's here! The most popular annual gradient sale. I've been busy the past several weeks restocking your favorites. But before we get to that let's talk about August dyeing and shipping schedules.

August is my big vacation month so there's going to be precious little dyeing time and abbreviated shipping schedules. If you need something custom dyed in August please get your order in this week. All other orders will be scheduled in September.

I do a little hand dyeing for personal use--especially for quilt backs. Thanks for all the information you share about dyeing. I have learned a tremendous amount from you. I prefer to purchase larger quantities of fabric for dyeing--at least 25 yards at a time--but have not always been happy with what I end up with. I am reluctant to make the investment again without knowing the fabric will look and feel nice after it is dyed. Would you be willing to share your sources or recommend a source for me?

Also appreciate info on bleeding quilts. I recently completed a red and green Christmas quilt that was started in the 1980's from cheap fabrics. Of course the reds ran!!! After following your process the red came out completely except for the printed area of some white on white fabric which remained pale pink. Something about the printing process I suppose. I'm ok with it though because it looks so much better than when it came out of the washer and was a great learning experience. Thanks for your generosity.

Hi Marilyn,
So glad the bleeding quilt instructions worked for you and very glad to know another dyer! I buy fabric from Dharma Trading and Test Fabrics although there are other suppliers out there. I've found that the fabrics from both of these dye well but I always recommend getting some samples first to test out and see what you like. There are so many different weights and weaves that I don't like making recommendations because what I like might not be what you like.
