I finally got the table clear and gathered enough nerve to sew the borders onto the applique quilt.
Don't worry, the borders aren't wavy. I just don't have it laying flat on the floor.
You can see that I had to pull out a bit of stitching on the vine so that I could adust the vine trailing under the blossom.
Here it is ready to stitch the 4 corner blossoms! This is the biggest floor spot that I have in the house (that's also clean enough for a white quilt) so you can't see the whole thing but you get the idea. I'm thrilled!
For stitching I've folded the quilt and shoved it in a pillowcase with only one corner sticking out. Hopefully this will work fine. I'm anxious to get back to stitching.
I'm Vicki Welsh and I've been making things as long as I can remember. I used to be a garment maker but transitioned to quilts about 20 years ago. Currently I'm into fabric dyeing, quilting, Zentangle, fabric postcards, fused glass and mosaic. I document my adventures here.
