Applique update

Let's be honest. I didn't get much of anything done this weekend. Our friends from the UK arrived and the weather broke Sunday morning so that Laura and I could get out on the lake for a paddle. This is Laura laughing at me for almost flipping over trying to take her photo. 

That's why my Mom didn't name me Grace.

But it was so nice to be outside again and have the windows open and it's great having friends visit.

Paddling was only a couple of hours. The rest of the time Ian, Chris and I were glued to football. Barring National Championships and Super Bowls, I could not have had a better weekend. Both of my teams, the Hokies and the Eagles, completely blew out their opponents in surprise big wins. You would have thought I owned the teams the way I was jumping and screaming.

I didn't do nearly as much stitching as I planned but I finished the second border.

I only had this one pink flower to finish and as much as I hate pink, I do think this is a particularly pretty blossom.

This is as far as I got on the new border.

Laura hates football so while we were watching with Ian she was making potholders. Today we are dyeing a quilt back for her and going to check out the Country School Quilters exhibit before it comes down Wednesday.
