I started the big marbles this week and I'm really happy to finally be at this point. One of the challenges that I had on the little marbles was dealing with the fact that my circles aren't really perfect circles. It shows on some of them and, no surprise, it REALLY shows on the bigger circles! I decided not to sweat it. But I know that for the next quilt I will need to applique the circles, not piece them. I also discovered that I have less ruler options for the bigger circles. Most of the "shapely" rulers done reach across the width of these circles so I have to use those from the center. But, so far, it's going OK. Here are the first 5.

You continually inspire me - not only with your creativity, also how you take on challenging projects and complete them beautifully. Your fish backsplash and mosaic wall make me smile, but these marbles are mind-blowing.

Good morning Vicki...I am so looking forward to seeing the quilt top when it's finished, and while I really, really, love your circles, my old eyes and fingers could not withstand the time and mobility it would take. Maybe in my next life, but for now, I'm happy with what I am able to do, and to watch what you do so well.

Wow, these really are cool. I don't notice any not-perfect circles. Who wants to do perfect, anyway?!

We are human and as such are never perfect so in that light, your circles are wonderful. And besides - I can't see much imperfection! Comments are closed.
