Patricia had been dreaming about portals lately so decided to draft it out and make an art quilt. She made the center first with an extra piece of batting under it. The stone portal was made with scraps of dyed fabric a layer of tulle stitching it to making it look like stones. She pieced the background then added the center and the stone circle stitched in place. Quilted with different thicknesses of threads, fibers, thread ends, cheese clothe, ink paint, shiva paint sticks, tulle and dyed yarns. A total of 30+ hours. She wanted the background to look like a galaxy.
For sharing, Patricia received a 20% coupon for the shop that's good for 3 months! If you have made anything with my hand dyed fabric I hope you will consider sharing it in the Customer Gallery. The only rule is that projects have to be complete. It doesn't have to be made totally from hand dyed fabric, just include a recognizable amount.
