Looking for something pretty to offset the ugliness in the news these days? Well, I've got it right here thanks to a customer, Susan Turney. Susan is taking Melody Johnson's Focus on Fusing class and this is her third assignment.
Susan purchased a variety of gradient for her projects. The gradients are wonderful for giving you a variety of colors and shades in one piece of fabric. As I look at this piece I think I see Navajo (the center of the flower), Barrier Island, and Sugar Maple. Now, let's all agree to spend at least a few minutes today creating something ourselves.

Thank you, Vicki! Your fabrics make it so fun and easy to come up with fusing designs. I'm using them again for our assignment to do something abstract. Not really my area but the fabrics make it exciting.

Susan...what a thrill to be admired and recognized by someone as talented as Vicki Welsh! Your creation was a real eye catcher, and totally enhanced by her glorious fabric. I ordered a few pieces from her, but of course haven't made anything like yours! Way to go Susan and Vicki!

Susan, This may not be your area but it is obvious that you have the talent to continue with it. Vicki's fabrics are beautiful and you put them to good use. I keep looking at the quilt. The simplicity of the quilting adds to it. If it was densely quilted it would have detracted from it as is the case with so many. Yours enhances it. Lets the fabric and design shine.

Your piece is beautiful Susan. Vicki's fabrics always look good. Hopefully today I will finish a paper-pieced block. So many pieces.

Perfect design elements in my opinion. And yes Vicki's fabrics surely makes it easier to create wonderful pieces.

I love this quilt and the fabrics she used. I sewed binding on a comfort quilt for my quilt guild today! Comments are closed.
