I didn't do any quilting yesterday because it was "dyeing day". It's gotten cold here so Chris made a fire in the wood stove and I was quite toasty dyeing 35 yards of fabric. But over the past week I have been slowly working on the first set of my Christmas cards made with these sun printed stags. I'm planning to finish them up today. But I'm trying to figure out if they need anything else. Last year I made this card and decorated the antlers with Christmas ornaments. I was thinking that I might do something similar this year but the more I look at them the more I think they are perfectly fine as is. They seem a little too stately tart up with tinsel.
What do you think?

I think they need something but not sure what. Snow maybe? Something sparkly?

I think a couple holly leaves with some berries on their neck, like a necklace or a bow tie

These are just lovely as-is. They would be equally lovely with tiny dots of white resembling snow down around the reindeers hooves, or perhaps at the upper area to resemble falling snow. Having no idea on the volume of number of fabric postcards you intend to mail this season, dare I suggest a smattering of little French knots in white floss? Of course, the added dimension of French knots would beg the question of survivability through the USPS machinery. I hope your cold symptoms have subsided.

A little sparkle won't hurt to make them more festive.

I think the stags are fine, but the background could use something—stars, crystals, snow? I love your creativity!

I like them the way they are - but I can see what you're thinking. What about a single star in the sky....with something sparkly??? Would that be enough? Or maybe a glued on crystal gem on their neck as sort of a necklace?

They are very pretty but a bit plain than the usual Vicki postcards. I am sure you will think of something.

They are very elegant, but feel they need just a little something, like snow, or a single star in the upper right hand corner with a little glitter. You are so talented in so many ways. Happy Thanksgiving.

I love them the way they are. They have such delightful color and texture that I don't think they need anything else. Comments are closed.
