I accomplished something that doesn't involve dyeing hundreds of yards of fabric! I finished quilting Stars at Sea and got it trimmed. Here you can see the pretty light purple backing. I used Wonderful Master Quilter thread for the first time. I love how it looks. It's not as flat as So Fine and not as glossy as Glide. It's a good in-between. But I did have some breaking issues with it. With some advice, I finally figured out that I needed looser tension and then it ran just fine. The quilt is made with a fat quarter set and the binding will be from strips that I cut from the FQs before cutting out the stars. If I have any energy left from dyeing today I'll get started on this tonight.

Susan, Not to be picky, but the thread is WonderFil.... I was looking for an online source to see if I wanted to give it a try. I like what I see. Looks promising. Of course, I have tons of thread. So I don't "need" any more. But, I LOVE thread.

It must feel so good to be able to get back to quilting, even it it wasn't the exact pattern you had hoped to use. This quilt will definitely be an eye catcher at the show!

The quilt looks so pretty. It is great you got at least a little quilting done. I feel the same way. I have been so busy with rocks and making equipment covers I haven't had any time to quilt. Comments are closed.
