Not in age. That's so far in my rear view window that I don't even remember it. I made it to 40 with the number of verterans quilts that I quilted this year! After posting yesterday I started to wonder if I could get 2 more done before the meeting last night. I have backs and batting precut so it only took 10 minutes to load the quilt back. Both of these quilts were assembled from blocks made by club members. Becky handed out kits of fabric and they all came together for these 2 quilts. Two other members volunteered to take them home to bind. We didn't keep count but I'm pretty sure we made over 60 quilts this year for the VA hospital. Terry and I quilt them and Terry's Mom distributes them when she volunteers at the hospital. I think we have a good process going on! I picked these 2 quilts to quilt yesterday because I knew I'd do a fast stipple on them. Any time that I get a sampler style quilt I'm going to quilt it with an overall design. I also knew I'd use the same thread on both quilts. My time limitation meant stipple and I got both of them loaded and quilted in 2 hours! I can always count on my Innova for perfect tension too! The top thread is variegated and a bit darker and it doesn't show through anywhere on the back.
Now I can quilt one of my quilts! 12/14/2016 12:08:06 pm
Ha ha.. now you have me wondering about the "rearview mirror." I remember 40, but it seems ages ago. What I really remember is the 40th birthday. Not much else stands out from that year. I wasn't quilting or painting at that age. (sorry, I got sidetracked down memory lane.)

Vicki, you and Wanda are both in the 'Wonder Woman' category where product production far outweighs what the normal person is able to accomplish over a year's time. I admire all the quilts you make for our veterans, who give so much of themselves to keep our country safe, and who surely appreciate receiving quilts from people like you and your guild members. God bless you all!

Good job! That is amazing how quickly you got these last two quilted. It is great that a system is in place to get so many quilts done for deserving recipients! Comments are closed.
