I just love making these fabrics and I'm always tempted to keep all of them. I have absolutely no control over how they turn out. I fold them, cover them with ice and then sprinkle the dye powders in random patterns. Even when I think I'm "planning" color I'm always surprised. Fabrics like the 3 above are the ones that I think are ideal for lots of custom quilting. There are some "flat" spaces where quilting would really show off. Then there are other like these three that can be quilted or not quilted. They have enough design detail to stand on their own as a tapestry. If you are stuck for ideas for what to do with them check the Customer Gallery to to see how Patricia Caldwell uses them. To see all 12 new Crystals just visit the shop.

These are just stunning especially the green lines in Seraphinite. We've had unaccustomed snowfalls and I got to do some snow dyes, so much fun, I'm planning the quilting of a medallion now.

they are so very pretty! John Sandford has a new book out in April - Golden Prey - looking forward to see how he has Lucas work in a new job now for the US Marshall's service - I'm pretty sure you read those too and in October a Virgil Flowers.

Vicki, these are positively gorgeous pieces and you should be very proud of your ability to create such pieces, even though you say you have no control over how they turn out. 3/2/2017 08:25:30 am
These are lovely. I want to learn to do these at least half as well as you do.

Too bad Tourmaline is already sold. I fell in love with it. Or maybe it's good that it's already sold?

Breathtakingly beautiful! Anatase almost looks like downy feathers. They're kind of like inkblots. I suppose we each see something different. Each and every one is so gorgeous, it would be hard to pick a favorite. Comments are closed.
