I have so many new fabrics this week! I'll give you some highlights here but you can see all of them on the What's New page. Today's fabrics are all from my big day of ice dyeing last week. Let's start with Tapestries. Each of these fabrics is at least 108" square! When I started making these I envisioned them as quilt backs. So far I think each one has become either a duvet cover or wholecloth quilt. I call fabrics that are larger than a yard Galaxies and fabrics that are one yard are named after Stars. Why? No reason except that I like to look random things up on the web. But once when I was snow dyeing fabric I decided to scrunch some fabric in the bottom of one of the bins to see what I would get. When I saw the results I was thrilled and felt that the Galaxy names were appropriate for these cool fabrics. Here are 4 new Galaxies that I made last week during the ice dyeing session. Here are just a few of the new Crystal fabrics in the shop. I think it's easy to figure out why I name these after crystals. Each one of the new ones are about 38" square. Be sure to check out all of them in the shop.
Check them all out in the shop and if you want to see how one of these looks quilted you can see two spectacular examples that were recently quilted by Patricia Caldwell here and here. 6/8/2016 12:48:32 pm

FYI-Obsidian is called dragonstone in Game of Thrones, and a weapon made of it can kill the White Walkers. 6/8/2016 03:59:38 pm
Wow! I can NOT imagine using any of these as "backs" - they deserve to be center stage.

These are just so very wonderful. I'm surprised that you can achieve such depth of colour through so much folded cloth.
