The Rainbow quilt is my "travel" project. I mostly work on it once a month when I sew with my quilt club. Since I last posted an update I was able to work on it at the river over Thanksgiving and this past weekend. The Rainbow Quilt is a free pattern you can download on the website. I've made great progress. Over Thanksgiving I got all of the main blocks made and this past weekend I made all of the border blocks. I actually have enough for a king quilt and a lap quilt. There's also enough leftovers that I might end up with a baby quilt or another Fractured Fragments-type quilt. When I got home from sewing Saturday night I just had to put some blocks on the wall and see how it's going to look.....and it's going to look awesome! I can't wait to start putting it all together in January.
Today I'm going to be desperately trying to figure out how to fix the lights on the Christmas tree. It's a pre-lit LED tree that we bought last year and we think there's something wrong with the plug. Fingers crossed that I can find a replacement and that it will fix it. A tree without lights is kind of depressing.

A tree without lights IS very depressing, hope you get that fixed soon. We just did our decorating and the lights are the reason I go through all the fuss. 12/12/2016 11:40:05 am
It is indeed going to look awesome! I love your hand dyed Rainbow Quilt. 12/12/2016 11:40:09 am
we will never buy a pre-lite tree again. We had bought one about 6 years ago and within 3 years half the lights went out and we never could find the problem - then on the 4th year more went and more - we had by that time been wrapping lights around it to fill in the blank areas - it got tossed the year before last and last year we bought a new one that didn't have lights on it. At about that time the two skinny tiny trees that I put in the dining room that are pre-lite stopped working too!! and we wrap lights around those now too. I like them so I haven't tossed them as they are easy to put lights on.

I wasn't expecting triangles for the border, but they are fantastic!

Your quilt is really striking! On the pre-lit tree, check the plug and see if it has a tiny fuse in it. On regular tree lights they have these. Hope you get it working again!

The border triangles are a great finish for your rainbow quilt top. They really catch your eye! Comments are closed.
